SIMAGIC ALPHA EVO 12NM
I upgraded from a Logitech G29 to this wheel base. And the difference is night and day. I can use a 330mm wheel and still feel proper feedback. The 270mm wheel on G29 was too small and wasn't giving the feel of a car. Got it at a good price too, thank you BEAVER, opted for express delivery got it by next day morning. The base is heavy, fitting it is a two person job. I was incline towards the Moza R9 but online reviews favoured simagic for detail in feedback and 12Nm seems to be sweet spot where you can be assured you aren't missing much detail on race cars.
The wheel passthrough interface is great for a good wired connection with no dangling wires on NeoX wheels. The SimPro software is a bit unrefined with crude sliders. Force feedback damping issue with older firmware has been resolved I don't feel high damping.
Only issue I had was with the wheel not connecting to SimHub through the passthrough connection, there is a hacky way to do it with plaster but I am reluctant to do it.
Coming from a belt drive, this DD base blew my mind with its detail , responsiveness, strength and dynamic range. Build quality is excellent too. Gets a 10/10 from me.
I am impressed by the quality and details it gives in the sim, very powerful and well built,
VRH did a great job helping me with knowledge of equipment’s and resolving my queries.
